SC Week 6/2: Burn - Marshall, Ostend 1907 (Black squares and White squares)
"… the black square are weak in as much as White has little to counter the black king marketing to e5."
Michael Stean
Notes and Observations
Qc3? The difference between a static pawn creating dark-square weaknesses and a strong passed pawn can be one missed opportunity to push the pawn.
…Nf6-e8-d6 Blockading squares = defensive outposts?
Bf3-e2, Be2-f3, Bf3-e4 Bishops are supposedly long range pieces. After the queens are exchanged, White’s moves three times, just one square each time. Compare how Black’s knight travels across the board. Piece mobility!
